Med-X-Press GmbH

Dangerous goods officer: Sven Voges

As Head of Logistics, Sven Voges is very familiar with all aspects of the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Another area of expertise has been added since June 1, 2023. Voges was appointed hazardous goods officer at Med-X-Press GmbH by the management. After successfully passing an examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, in this role he is responsible for ensuring that hazardous substances are transported safely from A to B without endangering people or the environment. This includes all processes when the hazardous goods leave the warehouse, are prepared for transportation and the transportation itself.

This starts with checking the paperwork, as all goods are classified, labeled and provided with a globally valid UN number. It continues with the truck and its equipment for transportation as well as checking the trained driver. A route planning tool is used to determine the route via which the hazardous goods are then transported safely to their destination. What the hazardous goods officer is for the transportation, the hazardous materials officer is for the storage of the hazardous goods. Sven Voges comments: "I have a view of the road and our hazardous goods officer, Nico Rosenplänter, has a view of the warehouse." With the Voges/Rosenplänter duo, Med-X-Press can now also handle hazardous substances, such as the storage and transportation of raw materials for pharmaceutical production.
