Three different biographies that have one thing in common: Internships at Med-X-Press

An internship at Med-X-Press can have many reasons, but in any case it gives you a deep insight into the various areas and everyday working life in pharmaceutical logistics.

Britta Weber

Britta Weber has been a civil servant in the administration of the district of Goslar since 1992. To qualify as a senior civil servant, she also completed an internship in a commercial enterprise. She chose Med-X-Press as one of the largest employers in the region and as a company in an area that Weber had previously had no contact with. In three months, she worked in all departments, and there are quite a few of them. From order picking to the individual production areas and marketing through to IT and BtM logistics: a wide range of completely new fields of activity for the civil servant. Weber's employees were highly praised for "their patience in explaining certain regulations and standards" - and the trainee was impressed by the care and seriousness with which every product, whether it was a medicine or a flyer, was handled. "Med-X-Press does that really well."

Weber is currently head of the Asylum Law and Basic Security departments at the district authority and states: "I take a lot with me for my work, including, of course, differences, for example in certain decisions that cannot be made in the public sector and where commercial enterprises have more leeway."

Alex Steinmüller

Virtual worlds, that is the cosmos in which Alex Steinmüller moved as an intern. The pupil from a secondary school in Goslar completed the mandatory internship in the 9th grade in the IT department of Med-X-Press. This technical unit is a service provider for the company's customers and employees. Helge Scharoll, from IT Support, was an instructor himself and had prepared the relevant practical projects to involve Alex in as many processes as possible. This also included troubleshooting "in the system", which the student mastered flawlessly. The trainee, who aspires to a career in the IT sector and took computer science as an elective subject at school, summed it up as follows: “It was very interesting, I learned a lot and it was fun.”

Inken Sponholz

Inken Sponholz has completely different intentions for an internship at Med-X-Press. After studying medical engineering, the 31-year-old worked for various pharmaceutical companies and also trained as a pharmaceutical sales representative. When the question of succession came up at the family-run pharmaceutical company Athenstaedt, Inken Sponholz showed interest.

A special trainee program was developed, which included internships in the pharmacy, in wholesale and in pharmaceutical logistics at Med-X-Press.

Athenstaedt can look back on a history of more than 135 years, mainly offers medicines for self-medication - and is a Med-X-Press customer. In Goslar, the Athenstaedt products are stored, picked and dispatched in Goslar. Sponholz found it particularly exciting to experience the order routes and the logistics part of the supply chain live, "because it gave me a lot of understanding of these processes". This "customer internship" was a first for the Med-X-Press teams, who, according to Sponholz, were very helpful and answered all questions with understanding.
